John Erger, 70, of 1645 Brownlee Ave., was pronounced dead at South Side
Hospital at 10 a.m. today.
        He became ill while working in his garden and was taken to the hospital by
police ambulance.
        The body is at the Weller Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Weller Funeral
Home for John Erger, 70, of 1640 Brownlee Ave., who died of a heart ailment
while working in his garden at 10:50 a.m. Monday.
        Mr. Erger was born Nov. 27, 1887, in Halvelagen, Transylvania, a son of Mr. &
Mrs. John Erger, and came to Youngstown 44 years ago from Louisville, Ky.  He
was a roll setter at Truscon Steel Co. for 33 years until he retired in 1954.
 He was a member of the Third Evangelical Reformed Church and the Saxon
Lodge, Branch No. 30.  His wife, the former Anna Parti, died in 1954.
        He leaves a stepson, Thomas Zimmerman of Youngstown, a stepdaughter, Mrs.
Mary Davidt of Boardman, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.  
        Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.
